People long for conversations that can move them (at least for most of us). It does not necessarily mean deep exchange of ideas or discussion of issues around us, or a bout of intellectual intercourse. It is having someone who can relate to what we feel, we think, we undergo in life.
This is why communication "tools" have been invented -- the telephone, the mobile phone, social media... All to cater to the human need to connect and converse.
There are some people in our lives who we pour our hearts out to. These are the people who we feel at ease with, talking about almost anything; for some reason, they just get you - quirks and all. Conversations flow smoothly, like pouring a sweet syrup on a pancake.
Like me, for example -- I always end up telling my best friends from college EVERYTHING that happens in my life, without reservation or fear of judgment. And I am forever grateful for these people who have always been there to listen. Just that -- to listen, not necessarily to agree with me.
And that is, and has always been enough. Thank you, my loves, you know who you are.
