“We have not inherited the land from our fathers, but have borrowed it from our children.”
Dennis Hall
I am a crazy, involved person. In fact, I am tooooo involved. I am involved with my teammates' lives; I am involved with work projects. Yeah, I am that crazy. I don't think this is a bad thing. On the contrary, I feel that I just have so much passion for the things / people around me. This is something I am not scared of investing on.
So, to remain true to the advocacy that I am pushing, my little household celebrated the Earth Hour last Saturday from 8:30 PM to 9:30 PM. I believe that the advocacy in my professional life should transcend to my personal life. It has become almost a rule of thumb that I support the things which I know, in my heart, would make a difference, no matter how small it is. Beyond my work jurisdiction.
Husband and I were supposed to have a candle-lit dinner which I prepared but I finished cooking earlier so basked under the artificial brightness of our light bulb instead.
To fully make use of our time, we took Sachi for a walk instead. We also took the opportunity to count the houses who participated in Earth Hour on our street (8 out of 20). Hmm, the little evil in me wanted to leave some posters to those who did not switch off their lights. I mean, c'mon! It is just for an hour -- to give back to the planet! Geez!
Earlier that week, the office also celebrated our own Earth Day. We gave out these nice, indoor plants to everyone, along with some film-showing about environmental awareness and how man is harming the Earth.
According to www.earth911.com, indoor plants would
- improve indoor air quality;
- reduce stress;
- increase productivity;
- make rooms more comfortable; and
- keep taking care of the environment on your mind.
How bout you, loves? Did you celebrate Earth Hour? How?
